Yup, it was that time again. Yesterday was the “Annual Colwell Fall Party.” Hosted by my friends (and former co-worker) Josh, and his wife Kai. Good peeps.
It was a lot of fun, and I ran into people that I used to sail with and haven’t seen in like, a year, as well as Kai’s relatives; her mom and brother, his daughter Julia, etc.
There were fireworks. There was grilled meat, and other eats. A bonfire. A zipline–that no longer goes over the bonfire :). An extensive treehouse system. A trampoline. I met a guy who knew Chesley Bonestell, has written a book about him, and who is an astronomical artist himself. He invited me over to see a collection of Bonestell’s stuff, before they pack it up and send it to a collector/curator. Awesome! I definitely want to do that!
The clouds had parted, and it turned out to be a beautiful, warm, sunny day, then a beautiful, clear evening with a good breeze but still relatively warm. Later, we had the bonfire going and it was just right.
I ended up being pretty much the last person staying, taking off a little after midnight. I have to say, it was a nice, relaxing evening, seeing old friends and catching some up.
