Just a quick note talking about yesterday’s PT. Very simple. First were deliberate moves against the heavy bag with my side sword waster. There’s a lot you can do with it, and I’ve been trying longsword technique with it, to see what happens. So trying the Krump, the Zwerch, etc. and some other movement techniques that the roommate Chris has been talking about.
He discusses it a lot, and wants to get in touch with the MEMAG guys (one of their videos is over to the right) to trade knowledge and maybe some skills training. So often what I do is take the material from those discussions and see how they might work for me, and also apply the principles to different weapons (longsword, side sword, kali stick, jo staff, etc.). As I did yesterday.
So I did maybe 20-30 minutes of technique against the heavy bag, not with the intent to knock the stuffings out of it, but to see how the different techniques array against it.
I followed that with an “ISO” bodyweight legs workout from Scott Helvenston’s SEAL Training series. I did the “advanced” level with no problem, but it was a good sweat and this morning I can still feel it in my quads. Nice.
