Ahh, finally back the serious business of getting a fun workout. I’m feeling worlds better today, so it was time for getting sweaty. I didn’t bring up the energy for a full-on CFT session, but I did get my sweat on.
I did a very basic, no-frills, simple, brutal, can’t muck it up drill: the ascending pyramid. One exercise, the very practical (and perhaps my favorite) kettlebell long cycle clean and jerk (LCCJ).
3 minutes, each arm, LCCJ (16 kg)
2 minutes, each arm, LCCJ (24 kg)
1 minute, each arm, LCCJ (32 kg)
There. Simple. No rest sets. Only one exercise, no tricks or fancy stuff. 12 straight minutes of time under bell. And it was good.
I wore socks, but no shoes. My last blister there is almost completely skinned over and healed, but I didn’t want to rub it against anything. The roommate and some friends went hiking and invited me along, and I wanted to go. But I thought I’d hold off this last time, as I didn’t want to be wandering around in the slight bit of cold left (today’s a fairly warm day) and hitting the blister at odd angles. My ears are both open, and hardly any sinus drainage, but–the better part of valor and all that.
